Third Week of January - Some Rambling
Here it is the third week of January of 2016. I don’t know how I quite feel about that. I feel like I should have accomplished more, but I think that’s still the New Year's optimism tugging at me. I have been accomplishing little tasks around the house, but there’s always so much to do. It’s a little overwhelming, so some nights I curl up in the chair with Allie and the dogs and watch wrestling, Bubble Guppies, The Legend of Mick Dodge, or Downton Abbey. I think lately I’ve felt the full measure of being an adult, and not just a mature person. I’ve been mature for so long but I was able to look around and depend on the adults around me to really bear the heavy loads. Now I’m the adult.
What an absolutely paralyzing thought. Me and adult in the same sentence as an adjective to describe myself. I often times feel like one of those little funny posts on facebook that says something like I need someone that’s more of an adult than me someone more “adultier.” But I look around and I’m the only one.
I’m reading and researching for the blog and have a few half written posts that need a little more research and editing and then I should be able to produce another “Stories of the South” post. I really do enjoy those but it almost feels like producing a magazine article for free. I’ve got a set of senior pictures that I need to edit before I work on anything as frivolous as a blog post so there’s that. Hopefully I can wrap that up this week and then back to this business.
I hope you’re all having a great start to your week and if you had Monday off know that I’m awfully jealous. Stay warm dear friends!
It is hard to believe the first month of the new year is almost gone!
ReplyDeleteI know! It already feels like the year is flying. I've got to start thinking about preregistration for 4 year old kindergarten for Allie in about two months. Time slow down!
