On the way to Mom and Dad's house a few weeks ago I peeled off the main road, if 389 can be called a main road, and headed out towards Colony Road.  This runs over to McNully Road and puts you back out on 389 about two minutes from my parents.  Not that any of you will ever need this information but should the situation arise there ya go.  My plan had been to take a few shots of Walker's Gin old cotton gin, long closed, but the day was overcast, the building grown up, and I never could see a shot I was happy with so me and Mom and Allie got back on the road and headed home.

There's a big bottom that sits down below a creek that is always planted in row crops every year.  This spring has been wet and cool and the farmers are behind and it hadn't been planted yet.  As we came down into the bottom a carpet of yellow stretched out on either side of the road.  The day was dreary but the yellow shone out letting everyone know that spring was here.

Yes a common weed, cursed by farmers but the common buttercup on an otherwise gloomy spring day is a beautifully welcome sight.

Trying to get back in the swing of things yall!  I have several posts written out and just need to type up, pictures taken that are slowly getting edited, and research that is getting researched.  I've been enjoying the weather every weekend before it gets to be over a hundred degrees before ten in the morning.  I hope you have too!  See ya tomorrow is a really great crockpot recipe.  Later lovelies!
