A blogger and now a newspaper contributor!

If you’re local you probably already know but….

I’VE GOT MY VERY OWN COLUMN IN THE MACON BEACON.

Holy crap yall.

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the owner/editor of our local paper in Macon to ask if I would be interested in writing a weekly column for our paper.  It only comes out once a week, so that’s only one column every week, but still.  To say I was excited, flattered, scared, happy (did I say excited?) is an understatement.  He had been reading the blog and thought that I would be a good fit.

Yall…

I had to get up and go to the bathroom at work for a round of fist pumping and celebratory happy dance.  It’s a local paper.  It’s once a week, but you know what, some random person who’s not my momma liked my writing enough to offer me my own column.  Amazing.

I’ll be contributing recipes and local history notes  and photography as I have time, but I’m going to shoot for every week.  So it’s like they are letting me blog and then publishing it.  Crazy.

I just wanted to jump on here and say thank you.  If you’ve ever read this blog, thank you.  If you’ve ever posted a comment, thank you.  One of my dreams in life has always been to be a writer.  I think professional cowgirl and writer have been side by side on my big list of things to do since about fourth grade.  So this is a pretty happy moment for me.

Thanks my lovelies!
