Getting to Know You - Part 2

Mississippi Women Bloggers

It's that time again! It's link up time with Mississippi Women Bloggers. This is round two of their getting to know you series. Enjoy!

Here’s ROUND TWO of questions…
1. What is your favorite thing to do in your hometown?

Probably my favorite thing to do in Macon is walk. I love getting to look at the detail of this little historic town. My favorite thing to do where I grew up is ride my horses. I think I know every inch of the place I grew up on.

2. What is the best vacation spot in Mississippi?

Ummmm....Probably Jackson. There are so many museums, movie theaters, stores, and just awesome stuff to see. After that probably Natchez - Antebellum homes, balloon races, and awesome food.

3. Tell us about the most fun date night idea in Mississippi.

For me it would probably be going to Dixie Nationals. You can tour the animal barns (love me some show cows), get a funnel cake, people watch, shop, and then watch the rodeo!

4. What is one fun fact that very few people know about you?

I love fashion - I read Elle, and watch New York Fashion week online.

5. Who is your favorite sports team (if you have one) and how did it start?

The Braves! I actually got engaged at Turner Field. I think it started when I was pretty young and my boy cousins taught me how to play baseball.

6. What are your top three “Best Eats” in Mississippi?

Papa's Pizza and Steak House in Houston, MS
The Ritz in West Point, MS
Seafood Junction in Algoma, MS

7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Oh good Lord. I hate when people ask me that. I had no idea I would be where I am right now 5 years ago. I'd like to still be at a job I love, married, a mom, and riding.

8. If you could choose an actress to play you in real life, who would you choose and why?

I'd probably pick Holly Hunter. I loved her in Saving Grace. I think she has just the right amount of grit and southern accent to play me.

9. What is a southern tradition you and your family have?

Having breakfast together on Christmas morning. It's a must.

10. List 5 things on your Bucket List you hope to do before you die.

1. See the Arena Chapel in Padua, Italy
2. Go to Las Vegas to watch the NFR
3. Have one more good barrel horse
4. Write a book (so trite I know)
5. Own my own business again

  2. Ok, I live in Macon, MS. Ok, not really. I live in between Macon and Brooksville. I grew up in Macon. I work there now. In fact, I was working the concession stand that night at the CA football game. . . Do we know each other?

    1. I don't know if we've every formally met, but I think I saw you in there working with Robin that night. I had just looked at your blog the other week and thought, hey she looks familiar! I'm such a shy ninny sometimes and always afraid of looking more like a goob than I usually am. I think we know a lot of the same people though. I'm not originally from Macon but married a Brooksville boy. Feel free to send me an email if you want to know more!
