Repurposed Building: Apostolic Church Macon, MS
The south is full of repurposed buildings. Movie theaters that become restaurants, churches that are converted into homes (yes I actually know of one), and filling stations that become churches.
This is the Jesus in Charge Apostolic Church right down the road from me in Macon. I remember when the congregation renovated the building and painted it this stark white and hand lettered their sign on the front. On Sundays they put their tall speakers on stands outside so the traffic riding by and the people across the street at the car wash can join in the service with them. It's just one of those Macon things I suppose.
It's a misty foggy morning here in Columbus. I've got a lot to do, so I better get started. Have a lovely weekend my lovelies and we'll see you next week!
I have seen a lot of buildings converted into storefront churches, but this may be the first time I have seen a former service station become a church building. Gives a whole new meaning to "filling station" doesn't it?
ReplyDelete"Gives a whole new meaning to "filling station" doesn't it?" LOL. There's a country store in Montpelier that has also been converted into a church.
