Suzassippi Cooks!

I love to see when people read my blog, it's even better when they try one of my recipes.  Head on over to Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles for a really nice post on corn sticks and my Apple Skillet Cake.  I was so glad to hear that she made it and loved it!  I love her blog and look forward to hearing about new places in Mississippi I want to see and some Texas places too.

Have a wonderful Friday my lovelies!

  1. The apple skillet cake was not only easy and delicious, and might even be considered healthy given the low sugar content, simple ingredients like eggs and apples, it was hands down the best thing I have put in my mouth in a long time.

It will be on the Christmas menu for the Texas trip--a simple thing that brought my dad a lot of pleasure right now, so it is I who thank you! I told Mom and Dad about you, and your cooking posts, horse posts, baby girl, and truck-driving husband. My baby brother drives a semi--we appreciate the brothers of the highway around our house...and the sisters of the highway, too. I can still remember when women driving a truck was a rarity, and generally only done in husband and wife teams.

  2. I'm happy you liked it, but more happy your parents liked it :). I don't drive a semi, I'm just support at home, but I do drive a dulie and pull a16' horse trailer by myself. That counts right? Thanks so much for posting and letting me know someone is reading and liking what I do. I love your posts about your family. I've watched/am watching my parents care for ailing parents and it's definitely a labor of love.

    1. Oh, yes, a dulie definitely counts--I will always remember Rand teaching me to back a boat trailer and learning that turning the steering wheel right meant trailer went left…and so on. I rejoice that women are, and have always been, tough, capable, and competent--even if in different ways--and that finding a good man who appreciates a capable woman is a good thing.
