Stories of the South - First Baptist Church Macon, MS

The First Baptist Church of Macon is a beautiful church inside and out. We had a friend that got married here a few years ago and the chapel is stunning on the inside with the sun coming through all that stained glass.

During the Civil War when Macon was taking in all those wounded from Shiloh, Corinth, Okolona and points north the basement served as a hospital. (See this post about the Civil War cemetery in Macon and it has some more information.)
