Winter Sunset
Mississippi has these crazy sunsets, especially in the winter. It starts out with a peachy pink sky and then as the sun goes down you get a brilliant magenta pink. I wait all year for them and was estatic that I was able to capture these on Christmas Day. Of course the colors aren't nearly as beautiful as they are in real life, but these are pretty close.
I'm happy to say that I hardly edited these. Just a little touch of contrast and boom! I'm been playing around with manual mode some lately and exposure and have been getting some good results. If you'd like to see more of these images, please go to my Flickr page. Enjoy!
Beautiful indeed! Makes me ready to be back in Mississippi--oh, wait, I already was! It is interesting the sunset contrasts in locations. I have always loved the brilliant orange sunsets in Texas and New Mexico, but have captured a few of the gorgeous pink and purple ones in Mississippi.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! We definitely don't get sunsets like that around Columbus, actually, we're lucky to see the sun all day (its super gray here)

Thank yall. I actually stood for a minute just looking and petting horses and then said, "Oh crap! The camera!" and took off running with horses looking at me like I had lost my mind again.
ReplyDeleteHorses can do that! One of my keeper memories of this trip is going back in the house and dad saying, "I saw you out in the pasture petting my horse."
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. The colors are amazing!
