2013 Year in Review
We are skipping Wordless Wednesday for the following post....
I have waffled back and forth on whether or not I was going to do a year in review and after reading some other bloggers posts I think I will do one after all. I'll try to be brief, and not go into too much detail but here goes....
2013 A Year in Review:
All in all this year was a pretty good one for me, actually it is one of the better years that I've had in a while.
January
Let's back up a minute. The day after Christmas 2012 I went on a job interview with my current company at 10:00 in the morning, by three that afternoon I had a new job! New Years Eve I put in my notice at the insurance company I had worked at for four years and offered to work out my two weeks to help get the girl going that would be taking my place. My boss of course declined, so I walked out at 12:00 p.m. on New Years Eve a free woman! I started at my new position the 8th of January and haven't looked back. And oh yea, there was snow!
February
Is it wrong that I don't even remember much from this month?
March
My old boss calls about March or so and asks me to come back and be his office manager as B had quit. I very politely turned him down. I was very adult about the whole thing. A small part of me was quite shocked at how professional I was.
April
My funny little monkey Allie turned 1 the 5th of the month. She is growing by leaps and bounds and took off walking about a week after she had her birthday. We didn't have a huge blow out party as seems to be the fashion these days. It was on a Friday, I left a little early from work, and we had a small quiet affair with me, my husband, and my parents. There was cake. There was homemade bunting. It was perfect.
May
I finally started back blogging again after several years. The reaction was so supportive and I was thrilled that people would even be interested in my little part of the world.
June
Me and JJ celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. How did that even happen? How has it already been 7 years? I'm surprised every day that he puts up with me and my insanity. We also went on our first beach trip with Allie. That little lady knows she loves her some sand and sun.
July/August
Two of the hottest months I can ever remember.
September
I joined Mississippi Women Bloggers and it was a great decision. I've met some great bloggers and have contributed two posts over the year. Hopefully I can get more involved in 2014.
October
I finally found my blogging groove and started trying to post at least Monday through Friday.
November
I turned 32, realized I was old, and moved on with my life. I also did my first blogging series about thankfulness (click the link to read). Also, there was Thanksgiving my favorite holiday ever. We also finally found a great church to start attending, Cooksville Methodist Church. It is exactly what we have been looking for in a church and we are so happy to be there. Thanks to the hubby for pointing out I had forgotten to add this!
December
Oh December you have been so good to me the past two years. It's Christmas time, which means time off. The office slows down, which is also always good. And you gave me good career news again. The manager of personal lines is moving on up to that castle in the sky we call commercial lines. They have been looking for a new person to fill her position but I never could have dreamed what happened next. I had my annual review and found out along with my extra vacation days I am going to be transitioning into the position of personal lines manager! Cue slack jawed expression during the meeting and scrambling to be able to make coherent sounds.
In the words of the immortal Stone Cold Steve Austin, "Hell yea."
So add in the fact that I had the entirety of Christmas Eve off for the first time in five years, it was enough to make me want to carol like an elf. It was a stellar way to end the year.
Thank you so much for your support over the past six months or so. I have so many ideas for next year and I hope you'll follow along with me. Have a wonderful and happy new year my lovelies. Until next time!
Sounds like it's been a great year! Wishing you a great 2014!
