Stories of the South - Boy John House

My husband's father's place is on Hwy 388 too.  (You are going to be so sick of Hwy 388 before this is all over.)  On the far eastern side of the place, right next to the property line, is an old house.  This is where Boy John used to live.  Boy John moved years ago and now the house is vacant and slowly being over taken by the trees and grass around it.  I literally had to crawl through limbs and vines just to get the few pictures I did.  This fall I want to take some more close up pictures, but there are just too many snakes (rattlesnakes in particular) and critters this time of year for me to really poke around too much.  Yes, I am a sissy.  I also have this terrible thing about self preservation.

See the fake brick siding that's still holding on in places?  You actually see a lot of that around here.  I had grandparents that actually had some inside their house around a fireplace.

I cannot wait for the first frost when I will feel comfortable enough to plunder around and show you some of the details of this house.

Have a great start to your week.  I am enjoying the break in the temperature, the rain, and even though it is muggy as all get out I can handle that if I don't feel like I am baking alive.  Until next time my lovelies...
